Yes.Most are family & friends. There's a few of me too. They are from passport photographs. Some took a really long time. Some I sanded over many many times. Strangely enough some people that I knew the best were the most difficult. Some of the passport photos were very unflattering even if the person in real life was beautiful. I spent a year on these 77 paintings. Currently I'm in Vancouver visiting my family but when I return to my studio in Montreal I will be working from real life people. I can hardly wait¡

Hi Edith,
I am like and am interested in your portrait series, but would be interested to know the background story. Are they painted from photos of your family, friends and acquaintances or random images you have found?
I would like to know how long you spend on each on average?
I find them fascinating and I enjoy the freedom with which they appear to have been painted.
Many thanks,
John
