actually quite an overwhelmingly colourful show. A surprising amount of paintings. A couple of knock your socks off. One Cezanne in particular. Big dark moody tree. Strong, confident, direct painting...Walked away thinking definately, less is more. Zero in, cut the fat.

Noname Day 4

Alas, still no name. Making do with "Dude", "Buddy", "Goofus", but they're not keeper names for such a noble, soulful pup.

little NoName. An extraordinairly plain mostly black lab mix mutt.
Smelly, stinky little mutt with the runs. BB + Ollie are not impressed.

If I were Queen of the Forest...

My husband D thinks I should have become a city planner because I spend a HUGE amount of energy thinking and talking about urban design -- social and physical. And he's right. I fume about the stupidity of things that seem so OBVIOUS...so to placate that part of me I have a whole new website at http://doreyme.blogs.com/if_i_were_queen_of_t/

believe it or not!

Edward Hopper died on May 15, 1967. I turned 16 on May 16, 1967. Joseph Mallord William died on December 19. My daughter Z was born on December 19. Turner died in 1851. I was born in 1951. Turner loved to paint Switzerland. I was born in Switzerland. Turner particularly loved Luzerne. Luzerne is my home town! How uncanny. This warrants further investigation.

I was so blown away

by Monsieur Homer's watercolours, not to mention Turner's et al, I signed up for a watercolour course at the Visual Arts Centre. Second class today, and excuse me, not only is it kinda expensive...arches paper, 10 bucks a shot...good watercolour tubes a small fortune, brushes over 100 bucks, but it's hard. Show no mercy art. You can run but you can't hide with watercolours.
