Mount Royal, Ap 8/07, oil on paper,10.5x13.5

a very cool experiment -- for me --.  I was experimenting with different surfaces.  Wood, raw. Wood, primed with acrylic.  Watercolours + oil on paper.  Have only tried oil on paper once or twice before years ago, + boy is it great.  Very fluid, loose.  The oil soaks into the paper immediately.  Quite liked the results, as I painted all day Easter Sunday, quite the perfect Quebec day for a lapsed Catholic. Speaking, of.  Gee, Quebec made the Sopranos, with lapsed prescriptions. How apt.  Still meditating on Tony's sister's country place.  Sure looked liked Lake Memphremagog, from the US side...Newport.  Altho, I suppose it could be Lake Champlain.
