oh, wh, I forgot to say, that little white blob in the forefront is a beautiful little model of a lighthouse I bought years ago in a seafood joint in PEI. We were there for some time (my husband was working on a CBC show) + I spent most days taking the kids to wonderful beaches. The lighthouse, home made by a waitress's boyfriend, was featured on each + every table at a seaside seafood joint. I thought it was the most beautiful souvenir on the island + a little candle fits on top.
thanks, wh. I, too, can't remember To The Lighthouse. I read it in high school but I remember I liked it + I love the whole Bloomsbury gang + their houses + gardens + entire envires. Especially their clothes + hats. Painters had it easier back then, people dressed painting worthy.
I find paintings with paintings in them interesting. It's like getting two for the price of one. I read To the Lighthouse in university but that was so long ago I can't remember a thing about it. All that aside, the painting captures a moment for me. Well done.
Is that a Antique Queen Anne Chair in the painting ? I like this one, the forms and colors together are pleasing.
