Stop, gouache on toscana paper, 8x8, 2008

Very struck by Louise Bourgeois' recent  uni-coloured gouaches in the May issue of Modern Painters .   Content wise -- babies in womb, breast feeding mothers, etc - similiar to work of mine after birth of first born -- not as powerful + stark, alas as these amazing works.   So got me thinking to try gouache, one colour + this is the first.  After a show there's always a bit of what to do next.  Cohesive body building to next show or just to stop...let the Muse muse for a spell.  Oh + LB is 96.  Art is one bastion, thankfully, where youth doesn't rule.
