Harper, not a huge fan of the arts, is lucky to be running in Canada. Here we have a multi-party system. According to a CBC poll, 38% of Canadians would vote for the Conservatives if there was an election today. 28% would vote for the Liberals. 19% for the NDP, 8% for the Bloc + 7% for the Green party. So 62% of Canadians would NOT be voting for the Conservatives but the Conservatives would win anyways. One wonders why that 62% can't work in tandem to defeat the Conservatives. How truly different are their platforms? (excluding the fed Blocs anti-fed stance)
