Oh, the inhumanity.

Okay, it's not life or death but REALLY!  Look at these developers cashing in on "the Main" while destroying it with the same breath.  All three buildings pictured in the billboard are recent + ugly new additions to the "Main". Arg!  Doesn't anyone at City Hall care?  

 

The uglification of Plateau Montreal

This building, on the corner of PIne + St. Laurent has been deserted for some time. The top, many, many years.  Below, I believe was a shish taouk place for awhile but it's been in this desolate state for awhile now.  Maybe a year?   It looks like it'll eventually be torn down.  What will it be replaced with ? Something like this?

Blando generic architecture...is there an official name for this this kind of  architecture?  A trip to the library or Indigo (book store) or Amazon is in order.

re: my continuing rant against the uglification of the Plateau

These pictures represent "old school" Plateau. Buildings, churches,  houses  a hundred - one fifty years old + older.   Lots of small businesses, not chains, colourfully painted houses...lots of quirkiness, creativity, individuality....
